I just read your book and couldn’t put it down. In fact, now that I’m done, I’m re-reading parts and thinking about your story. Part of the reason I picked it up at the library is because I live in MN and was attracted to the fact that your family originated here. I googled “Heffelfinger” to see what I could find out about the family. I was surprised to see an obit for Lucia Louise Peavey Heffelfinger, who must have been your Dad’s grandmother. It stated that she was a Christian Scientist, like her mother. There has to be some connection between this and your parents conversion. Has this ever been discussed in your family? Did your grandparents or aunts and uncles ever say anything? Just curious.
